Admittedly, the world-famous shoe designer has improved the shot; it now captures more of her Aloha My Diva collection, which boasts trademark Feldman rhinestones and kicky colours in up-to-the-minute styles. But take note: when Beverly Feldman says she’s a diva, it’s not hype. The woman is a bedazzled and lipsticked typhoon; a powerhouse of energy and determination. And she’s justified in her ways, she’ll tell you: Queen B is always right.

Opera soprano Lea Woods Friedman watches her new friend in action. “I call myself a diva in training,” Lea confesses, “though my family jokes that I’ve transitioned into the real thing.” Her family includes grandfather Robert Kuok, founder of the Kuok Group which owns South China Morning Post, Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Kerry Group and much more. Lea is in town to perform Micaela in Opera Hong Kong’s production of Bizet’s Carmen. Meanwhile, Beverly is here because “I spend lots of time in Hong Kong. It’s one of my three homes,” she says, referring also to Ibiza and New York.

So, just exactly how did Asian business royalty meet up with a Park Avenue princess? How did these two diva-rific forces collide? The story, like the women who tell it, is two parts jet-set fabulousness, with a degree of soulfulness for flavour.

Surprisingly, it starts in Hawaii, or Shanghai, depending on how far back you want to go. Beverly usually stays at the Shangri-La, and she was admiring the new floral arrangements in the Pudong property. She even wrote about Sebastien Lathuile, the hotel group’s new stem-master, in A Diva’s Diary blog on her website. Sebastien mentioned Lea to Beverly in the course of conversation, but she wouldn’t remember this till later. A few months hence, Lea’s father mentioned “that this famous shoe designer was in town, in Hawaii, and I should try to meet her.”

“I was jet-lagged one morning at 4am,” Beverly explains. “John Wayne’s movie Donovan’s Reef was on and it was set in Hawaii. I thought, ‘That’s it, I’m going to Hawaii’.” Sandal Tree footwear retailers promoted the visit, which is how Lea’s father heard of her arrival.

Lea made contact first, and the two women began emailing, from country to country, as each travelled for work and play. Ultimately, they met, the day before this interview, here in Hong Kong. “It’s a complete coincidence that we’re both here,” Beverly says. “But I’m her new spokes-diva,” Lea announces as the women laugh.

“When I design shoes, the woman I have imagined wearing them is Lea,” explains Beverly. “Now that I’ve met her, I know that she is perfectly ‘that woman’.” Maybe divas have diva radar that they use to recognise their kind. Or perhaps the two women were just destined to be friends. “Lea is a real diva,” Beverly says, bestowing her highest praise. “But my new collection for fall is called Queen B. I’m turning 60 and have decided at this point, I’ve earned it.” Long live the queen.

Reprinted with permission from Hong Kong Tatler magazine, an Edipresse Hong Kong publication. © 2006. He looks just like his daddy, New York's hottest new chef, Michael, soon opening his second restaurant in NYC.

Shoes and food, two of my favorite things – can you guess what the third is?

Daytime Adventures

Beverly with Lauren Ezersky from ‘Behind the Velvet Ropes’ in the window of the new Container Store, Lexington & 58th St.

Diva Diary,

I ask you, girls, would you sit in a store window with your friend for an hour on Lexington Ave & 58th Street during lunchtime on a busy Tuesday?

Well, that’s just what I did with Lauren Ezersky, the fabulous and famous star of Behind the Velvet Ropes! The new Container Store had asked Lauren to sit in the window for a few days doing her thing to promote the opening of their new store at 58Th & Lexington – so of course, I had to keep her company. Actually we were looking for hot dates, but guess at lunchtime all hot men are still sleeping or are at the gym, as there were not too many lunchtime specials walking down the street. That day, the hot specials were in the window…

How I spend my Days

Beverly as Guest Critic for Portfolio Class for Accessories Design at FIT

Do you want to be a shoe designer? You must be ready to make many sacrifices and it can take 30 years of hard work before anyone knows your name, but if you do, I would highly recommend FIT, as professors like Prof. Vasilios. I am sure it will take a lot less time for fame and fortune. The two hours I spent at F.I.T. were two of my best hours in NY. I had a great time seeing something more important than business – and that is education. Thank you, Vasilios for inviting me to your own “reality show”!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://beverlyfeldman.blogspot.com/2006/04/new-york-city-part-2-shoe-baby.html' title='New York City Part 2... Part I

So girls, I am back in New York City. My "How to be a Queen” collection was a royal success in Las Vegas at the WSA shoe show last week.

Now I am practicing many of my own philosophies...

What is life without your own publicist?

You know, all royalty, movie stars, rap singers, athletes and politicians have a publicist, so why not a shoe designer? I decided my dear friend, Joan Jedell, publisher of that trendy “it” magazine The Hampton Sheet, should be my publicist. Who better than a great friend that gets invited to every single hot party in NYC and takes the best photographs I have ever seen...? Visit The Hampton Sheet

Our premiere adventure was at the Beacon Restaurant, 25 West 56th St. where I designed my first dessert called...

'The Beverly' ... too much is not enough.

Is it the most expensive dessert in America? I don’t know, but I would rather eat desserts, anyway. So, Waldy Malouf one of NY’s top chefs and co- owner of the Beacon thought my dessert idea was fabulous and put it on the menu.

With ‘The Beverly’, you get 2 kir royals, (the only drink I will drink because it’s pink )... and a gift certificate to my store for $25.00.

Meanwhile in my store (7 West 56th St), if you buy any of my new spring handbags, we give you a $25 gift certificate to the Beacon. I can’t fiqure out the numbers, but if you subtract all the calories from all the gift certificates, it’s like eating for free!

And at the Beacon, ‘The Beverly’ is selling like hotcakes! I have personally eaten about eight as I keep bring all my friends there. And a few more were enjoyed at a delicious Valentine's luncheon for some of my favorite fashion editors, from INSTYLE, Essence, Latina, New York Magazine, Life & Style Weekly, Jane Hanson, Vibe and that great TV program ‘What Not to Wear’. A euro lunch 2 hours long - and lots of kir royals... and for dessert – everyone shared three ‘The Beverly’s...too much is not enough’ dessert! What better way to celebrate?

So, after all these multiple-orgasmic desserts ( I hardly ate a thing, I swear) I now have pumpkin face and big belly syndrome – and so I put in a desparate call to Heather, my personal nutritionist and diet guru. We are in combat mode starting today. Visit Heather's site.

I am going to be on HSN March 21st, and I must must be trim as a string bean. Well, I would be happy as a carrot, because right now I am feeling very pumpkin - a fashionable color, but not a fashionable size!

HSN March 21st

7am- 8am and 9pm-10pm
(Watch for me and call in - I need to speak to all my friends!)

So, my Heather Combat Mode Diet for today is:

Breakfast: 2 hard boiled eggs & 2 fiber rich crackers

Lunch: broiled chicken with lettuce & balsamic vinegar

Snack: 1/4lb. turkey or 1 orange

Dinner: 8oz steak / spinach salad

And 95 glasses of water!!

I can list my daily menu meals and maybe we can all try together?

Fat Warriors of the World Unite!

Blog me back and let me know if this interests you...

XXXX
B.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://beverlyfeldman.blogspot.com/2006/03/new-york-city-part-i.html' title='New York City... The last few days in China were like running up a mountain in high heels. Really tough. And really freezing. And guess who arrives wearing chic moccasins with no socks?

The theme for my winter 2006 Collection which you will be wearing next year is Queen B, Be a Queen. I have decided that since I am approaching the next glorious decade of my life it is time to give up my diva-ness in exchange for some queenliness, so now I have evolved into Queen B.

It’s amazing if you just tell the world your new title how fast it can catch on. I suggest you all try it at home and at work. Of course you must act accordingly. So far, being a queen is pretty good, except I don’t know how many queens have to sleep with socks on in freezing hotels in China.

Bali and How I Flunked Packing 101

I packed in Spain for my vacation and then repacked when I was in HK. It’s always a problem with how many shoes I take as I am THE SHOE QUEEN, so this time I condensed and only took 7 pairs and only one handbag, mercilessly abandoning the other five pairs in HK. The one bag I did take is from my new collection. The bag is fabulous! Designing a bag is one thing, but actually taking it on the road and see how it works is another. How it travels, comfort, accessibility, weight – these are all the really important factors. That’s why I think it’s important to be a woman designing for women. I mean, who else would understand all this?

So, back to my packing. I arrive at the airport exactly 4 kilos overweight. I cannot believe it. I have left half of my belongings in HK, and I am still overweight. This is more stressful than Weight Watchers. I pay and decide all airlines should donate all overweight charges

Hasta La Pasta, Baby

Dear Diary,

So, since September 6th I have been to HK, Paris, Italy, Spain - and then to New York, just for Halloween for our Annual Scare-Our-Panties-Off Costume Contest and After Hours store party. Here I am at the Halloween party in my poodle costume holding Woody, our dear friend Twilla Duncan's dog. Then it was back to Spain for three days and then back to Hong Kong and China to finish the next collection.

No matter what I pack or unpack, I have overweight charges at every airport. Maybe I should invest in a professional packer? Either that or I will need to start weighing my

lipsticks before packing. I mean how many lipsticks should I take on a one week trip? The most horrible part of traveling is that I can’t take all my shoes! I see women in my New York store buying the most gorgeous styles and I want them, too! Maybe I negotiate with the airlines - free shoes for mileage?

Italy, the Land of Great Food and Gorgeous Men
This was an important design trip – it was the Bologna leather show. It’s where all the designers go shopping for new leathers and trims, trend ideas and ornaments for next season. It takes up about 10 huge halls. Comfortable shoes a must, mine were Celia from the Beverly Feldman fall collection, leopard print pony driving mocs, the perfect walking and shopping shoe. It's bad enough we worry about our credit cards working, we should have to worry about our feet working, too?

So, my favorite Italian places are:
The absolute #1 hotel in Bologna and probably in all of Italy is
Hotel Porta San Mamolo
Tel 39 051 583056
Fax 39 051 331739
Email Info@portasanmamolo
Roberto is the owner and Irinia is the gorgeous concierge. Here I am with Roberto and his cocker (lucky dog!).
I have come to the conclusion that it is much more important to be in a charming hotel with the two nicest hotel people I ever met than be in a cold perfectly decorated one with the one perfect chair in a room that is like fashion prison, where if you need the smallest thing, your name goes onto a waiting list…

When you are at the Porta San Mamolo, you must get Roberto Bua, 335 6009254, THE best driver. Private cars are just a bit more than regular taxis, without that horrible two 2 hour NYC minimum…
Roberto is adorable, not married and good looking and he speaks English. And if you are not coming from Florence with 6 suitcases and 20 shopping bags, you might even have a comfortable ride. Even though I own the company, my handbag expert, Professor Frank, who is extra large teddy bear size, and Roberto tossed a coin and decided I was the only who could fit in the back seat with all the luggage.

And where do the real Italians eat? Very close to the hotel is Al Sangilovese, family style and easy. They opened early just for us because we had a flight. They are friends of Roberto. What more could you possibly ask for? They love to feed you in Italy.

And for something a bit more? Try La Terrazzo. The roasted chicken and potatoes with rosemary inspired me to think about possibly cooking again. Only for a moment though…

Florence

I have three favorite places.

1, My favorite hotel is the Continentale.
Very modern, all white, very hip. You look out your window and you are at the Ponte Vecchio, the original jewelry mart of the world – and what could be better than THAT?

2. My favorite restaurante in all of Italy is Ringos. It is owned and chef-ed by Eramano. We have known each other since the famous Beverly Feldman ‘Frankie and Baby’ days.
He makes the absolute very best salads probably in the world as well as the world’s best cheesecake. He has three tables outside, two inside, and the most uncomfortable bar chairs ever designed. But to sit at the bar and see him perform is an amazing experience. Don’t get fooled when it says 'hamburgers' on the menu. Those are ‘designer’ burgers and cost accordingly. You can also meet very eccentric other guests, like Judy the Jeweller, who I attacked at the counter and whose personal jewelry I bought right off her in between my first course and dessert…

3. My favorite shoe store: GILARDINI
This is really Beverly Feldman Florence. As Giuseppe has the biggest collection of Beverly Feldman shoes and bags in Tuscany. I am so very proud to be part of his company. It is the oldest family-owned shoe store in Florence and the first to have American, Spanish and Chinese shoes selling in very heart of the Italy. This Is truly a lifetime achievement.

But we all know behind every great man, there usually something greater, a woman. So…

Thank you to Gail, Giuseppe’s gorgeous and getting-younger-every-day wife, a California beauty who fell in love on a college vacation. A pair of twins later, she’s still in love, not only with her family, butwith all the Beverly Feldman shoes that fill their stores….

XOXO
B.

My Favorite Jeweler

I am revealing again my favorite jeweler, Angelina, the beautiful and exotic. She delivers right to my room. It’s a VIP service, but we are all VIPs, so when you are in HK and are looking for that special self- fulfilling-all-about-me gift, call her and say I recommended her. She is by far my best tip in HK…
Just call 852 949 90191. Of course you have to say you are a Beverly Fan, as she only sells to the best stores. And I pleaded with her for her private number, just for you...

You can never have too many shoes, handbags, or diamonds. God knows, I have enough shoes and handbags; it’s that jewelry void that is so much fun to try to fill.

So, back in HK and in the middle of next year’s fall 2006 collection. Its great! All my assistants either left or didn’t want to come, so I am here doing it all alone, just like the old days when I first started my company. Please send me everyone fabulous you know who ever graduated from design school in shoe-ology. I am interviewing.

The alarm clock goes off at 4am so I can get to the factory office by 9am and come back by 7pm, email the world, and then go to sleep. The Beverly Feldman Collections are now being produced in 6 different factories, and each one is highly specialized in the type of work they do so you get the very best of the best in each shoe. The bad news is, there is so little time for shopping – so we need to call it ‘research’ so we can sneak out a little while…

Last week I was in China - amazing how it’s growing. Instead of paella for lunch, it’s wonton...delicious!

I have found a few new spots, the best is a shop that has brand new Hermes bags. The deal is that you pay a little more and then you don’t have to wait to put your name on the waiting list. This, as you know, can be a four-year process. Then there is the cancellation list. If you wait long enough to get on the waiting list, you may be lucky enough to get bumped ahead through the cancellation list! Then there is my special shop in HK, you walk in and they have more Hermes bags than Hermes itself, which of course has none - and they are trained to laugh at you when you ask to see one.

So, I figure, why wait? And it’s such a special club owning the impossible-to-get Birken bag. It’s way too heavy. Anyway, I seldom carry my own handbag now. The trick is not only to get the bag, but get a great guy to carry it for you.

P.S. I am not revealing the name of the shop.

XXXX
B.

White is the New Black

White is the New Black

Any special request for next summer’s bags? I am just starting to work on the collection. The big news is white is the new black. Every season there is a new black, but I think we all really like the old black.

Meanwhile the first handbags from our new collection the ‘Rosie O’ have all sold out, wait till you see them in the new black, which is really WHITE! They will be on the website in January.

Don't you think a paper shopping bag in various sizes really does the job (of course only from my store) or do you think we need those 2 year waiting lists, even if you have the same $5000 handbag that everyone else has.

China is the new Europe. The old Europe is going to be for the really, truly wealthy.......and even as I go around the biggest names of all times are in the seat behind me going to China.

Ménage a la Quarto

Ménage a la Quarto.
In bed with my new loves, all three of them, Lulu, Gigi, Elvis.

Three and a half weeks traveling and I came home fat! Nothing fits. I didn't get depressed, I just got angry, and went into some strange G.I. Jane place. I cut off all my hair, and started working out daily, wearing army fatigues and my last boyfriend’s grey t-shirt (must keep all their things afterwards) and gave up my life long addiction. Time to ‘fess up. Yes, I am an addict - Diet Coke. Cans and cans, and more cans, every factory I work with worldwide, has an on going supply stashed for me. I can give you a term paper on the effects of Diet Coke from each continent.

Heather, my nutritionist has been telling me to give it up, but what does she know? Plenty. I guess after 3,000,000 cans my body started to feel the chemicals, and I went cold turkey with cold turkey on my plate. Results: no hunger; eating the bird size portions that Heather recommends with no problem, and have lost the bloat (it’s hiding somewhere, probably under the bed. And now I can zip up that really expensive Roberto Cavalli suede skirt that I just had to have for inspiration...

So this is my last really good picture as a blonde. I am going natural, whatever that is, giving up my tinted glasses and wearing real glasses so people can see my eyes. Actually I am trying that natural look that so many women swear by. I don't know, any opinions? Should a woman paint and dye herself to the very end or take the route men do and just let it be what it is. And shoes? Should we be comfortable or try to be sexy forever with high heels? I am interested in your comments... and what about handbags?

P.S. I have replaced all my Diet Cokes with only one cup of exotic imported coffee, my entire staff is pleading with me to go back to the D.C. as I am driving them crazy with the coffee sending everyone all over the world emails all night long…too much is not enough!

Hot Tips in HK - Part 4

Hot Tips in Hong Kong, Part 4...
The Final Entry

Even when it’s a holiday, thankfully, the stores are still open, so today we are shopping. I am here with my assistant, David and my handbag professor, Dr. Frank. I am staying at the Shangri La, my favorite hotel in HK, but this time when the bill comes, I may rethink the whole favorite hotel thing.

My brother, who has been constructing our vacation home in Thailand for 7 years, always stays at the YMCA in Hong Kong (great view and really nice rooms), may have the right idea. Well, I will split the bill on 4 or 5 credit cards, although that will cost me some mileage. Unfortunately, luxury is not cheap. Or then everyone could have it, and then it would not be a luxury. That is more of a political thought than a fashion thought, yes?

This is my last entry to you from HK as I am leaving this Wednesday at midnight, arriving back in Spain on Thursday. My chef quit, so back to roasted chicken from the chicken store, and as soon as I recover from the jet lag (24 hours of sleep does the trick) I will write again.

I can’t wait to be home with my puppies and the rest of the family and some beautiful Spanish sunshine.

xxxx
B

Hot Tips in HK - Part 3

Hot Tips in Hong Kong, Part 3...
My First Fire Dragon

Well, I have now been in HK for 14 days. My observations: I have done my next shoe collection too early, and my next handbag collection too late. They told me there was going to be a two-day holiday here, but it didn't quite register until everything completely shut down when the Mid-Autumn Festival arrived. Usually I can get factories to work thru holidays, but no chance here. This is like a mini Christmas. The specialty is a delicious little sweet delicacy called a ‘mooncake’ and all of Hong Kong became one giant mooncake. My resistance finally broke last night, when I ate the free box that Fendi gave me when I bought an inspirational piece there. I kept the mooncakes and the inspiration went to the factory. Actually, there were 8 in the box, but I only ate 6. In hindsight, I should have sent the mooncakes to the factory and kept the bag.

So, with no factories to bother, I actually did a tourist thing and went to the fire dragon festival. We waited for almost two hours, but finally we saw it! It was a 220-foot long body stuffed with straw and full of millions of burning incense sticks. When I saw it, it was clear why we waited 2 hours - it was pretty spectacular.

Hot Tips in HK - Part 2

Hot Tips in Hong Kong, Part 2...
Year of the Shopper

I have been coming to HK for eighteen years now and it is my favorite city. There are more Beverly Feldman shoes worn here and more Rolls’ driven here than in any other city in the world – and many of them belong to the same women. Yeah HK! Too much is not enough! In HK, it’s always the Year of the Shopper’!

I love the Chinese arts and crafts stores, and their biggest store is in the Wanchai district. It’s commercial, but there is a kind of trust when you buy there. I have never been too successful on the famous Hollywood Road. You must be either an Asian antique expert, or be sleeping with one.

My favorite cashmere store is Cashmere located throughout the city, but the Mandarin Hotel boutique is the best, for sure. They have no pearls, but have cashmeres in all weights and all SIZES, usually some great buys, and also for men.

And if you need your hair done, you have to see my nephew, Stephen Wai Tel 852 2526 000 LKF Tower, 19th floor, 33 Wyndham Street, Central H.K.

Do not ask me how I got a nephew in HK, and I have not only Stephen, but also two nieces, Dorothy and Christina, as well as a future nephew-in-law, Ivan, and a grand niece, Michelle and a grand nephew, Timothy. My belief is the best children are other peoples’ grown up ones, that you can just temporarily visit with on trips.
Also since I ALWAYS have ‘overweight’ luggage leaving any city, even leaving home, I have discovered the very best suitcases, Antler. I think they are only carried in HK, but I am not totally sure. They are light as a noodle and durable as a frozen bagel and only about $80 U.S. (as HK has their own money, also called ‘dollars’.)

News Blast:

Stephan cut my hair! It’s fabulous! The shop is beautiful and here is the big challenge: I am going to attempt (with a lot of courage) to go natural! No more bleach, no more blonde bombshell. And hopefully all my hair will grow back, even though it may be charcoal...............so in that big book of things that you don’t know until they happen to you - it says you can not bleach your hair 325 times and expect to your hair to stay faithful. Most of mine just committed hair suicide and jumped off. I am sure this will effect my next winter collection…

Hot Tips in HK - Part 1

Hot Tips in Hong Kong, Part 1

Whenever I am in HK my number one favorite stop is Angelina. I just think she is so beautiful. I am attracted to beautiful women, hoping their glow will sparkle over to me. She is a career mom and a dear friend - and an international jewelry designer. I always get something real when I come to Hong Kong, much better than fake, which is now the norm...........why would you want fake if you can get real diamonds? Just call 852 949 90191. Of course you have to say you are a Beverly Fan, as she only sells to the best stores. And I pleaded with her for her private number, just for you...

Shopping in HK
Only go to IFC (International Finance Center). Lane Crawford has built the most fabulous new store, my friend and stunning VP Bonnie Brooks has put in the best lingerie department in all of Asia - and with big bra sizes just for me. That’s the advantage of having friends in high places.

Lane Crawford is the Bergdorf’s of the Far East. The general taste level is the best possible. I could live there, except that there is no room service yet.

Otherwise there are about 2,000,000 stores, shops, shopping malls & galleries - there are more stores in HK per square inch than anywhere else in the world. Every single hotel has a shopping center. The only down side is that the clothing sizes go from size 0 to about size 6 as Asian girls are so petite – and it’s the same with the shoes, so to save time just shop Lane Crawford. And if you are having a BF attack, they always have a large selection of moi.

At the IFC, the IN restaurant is Isola, and the food, service and view are all wonderful, but never sit outside, it’s just too hot.

I discovered Ruth Chris in HK! When I am American food starved, and am craving a great steak, it’s off to RC’s - and it’s right next to my hotel, the fabulous Shangri-La (Hong Kong side - there are two sides to HK - the classy side is the Hong Kong Side). Ruth Chris’s telephone number is 852 23 66 6000. My favorite waiter is Raymond.

I love the Shangri-La because:

1. Every one in the staff knows my name.

2. The customer service person, Surachai, is so sweet and adorable! Just a delight. He meets me at the door each trip and carries my handbag right to the room where I get complimentary Diet Cokes for the entire stay.

3. The hotel just made a contract with Sebastienne. He is imported from France and the newest, hottest Floral Designer in all of Asia. He is based in Shanghai and is taking over the market with designs that are just unbelievable. They should be in an art gallery instead of hotel lobby.

4. The breakfast buffets are incredible - Western, Chinese, Japanese. I sit there surrounded by breakfast fantasies, eating my 2 poached eggs on whole-wheat toast, and either straight hot water or just another Diet Coke (thank you, Heather).
Hot water is an Asian thing, water is a Heather thing and DC is a BF thing…

5. Don’t think you need to pay extra for the more expensive harbor view. All you see is a lot of roof tops and very little harbor. The other, less preferred and slightly less expensive side is gorgeous, all green mountains and beautiful lights at night. It only took me 200 trips to discover this little fact. Hope you appreciate this big tip.

The Most Beautiful Woman...

A lot of men have told me that when they die, they want to come back as one of my poodles. When I go I want to come back as Mattie Roberts, (reporter for local CBS affiliate)! We met in Dallas, when I was presented with the Guest Designer Award from the F.I.G. (Fashion Industry Galleria) merchandising mart where all the most fabulous designers have their showrooms. A big deal. I had been dieting since Feb. If I had known I was going to be interviewed by Mattie, I would have just eaten pizzas and ice cream sundaes for the 7 months...

But she is now my official Dallas Muse. I mean if I can't be her, let her at least be the greatest living advertisement I ever had. By the way, when in Dallas try Steeles 214.219.9908. An Asian Fusion, slightly cramped restaurant, but with one of the most incredible desserts I have ever had, ever... white chocolate sushi, rolled in coconut, stuffed with M&Ms and a dipping sauce of warm caramel sauce. We split it between 2 of us, but that was a big mistake!! I am thinking of having them fedexed to me daily to wherever I am in the world...

And speaking of deserts, when in New York, go to my friends Sammy and Joanne at Dessert Delivery at 360 East 55st. NYC. www.dessertdeliveryny.com They have a selection of the best desserts from all over the city. I am always on a diet, and I went in the other day and actually bought something. I told Joanne I felt like I was robbing a bank. Actually I bought two desserts, but the good news is I only ate one, and threw the other away... because I have been Heatherized.

And if you have had too many deserts and want the best nutritionist in NYC, call Heather B. Bauer, RD 212.769.3200. heather@nu-train.com
Her website is www.nu-train.com.

Forget that she looks like an aerobics cheerleader size zero gorgeous blonde marathon runner - inside her is a 300 pound woman crying for help! No, really, Heather has helped me so much, and now all my friends are getting Heatherized. Its lots of turkey and buckets of water, but it works, and then you can go back to Sammy and Joanne and have some chocolate mud pie without guilt. I found Heather in my shop at 7 West 56 Street - the best shoe and general fun store in NYC - when I weighed my most. It was a shoes-for-fat love story. A year later, Heather has a lot of shoes and I have a lot less fat.

Letter from Paris...

WELL GIRLS, THE PUPPIES ARE SO BIG NOW THAT THEY ARE DATING AND THINKING ABOUT THEIR OWN FAMILIES.......WE HAVE PHOTOS, BUT THEY ARE FLYING THRU CYBERSPACE WAITING TO BE DOWNLOADED. SO I JUST THOUGHT I WOULD KEEP IN TOUCH WITHOUT A NEW PIC. YOU ALL KNOW WHAT I LOOK LIKE ANYWAY. I HAVE STARTED MY NEW COLLECTION..........WHICH MEANS SHOP, SHOP, SHOP..............AND FLY, FLY, FLY, SHOP AND FLY. I WAS IN PARIS TWO DAYS AGO FOR THE MAISON D'OBJECT GIFT SHOW, WHERE I STROLL AROUND FOR HOURS SHOPPING FOR MY STORES, BRINGING IN AGAIN MORE OF THE GREAT ZAZO SKIRTS ( EXCLUSIVE TO US) AND MY FRIEND TOM, FROM TOM'S COMPANY, AND I ARE GOING INTO BUSINESS SELLING HIS WONDERFUL DECORATIVE ANIMALS ON OUR SITE SOON TO APPEAR.........

THE BAD NEWS IT WAS SO HOT, THAT I HAD TO QUIT AT 4:OOPM. AT LEAST I DID NOT GO OUT ON THE LAWN AND TAKE A NAP LIKE A LOT OF THE OTHER FAIR ATTENDEES. I MEAN IT REALLY HAS TO BE HOT, FOR ME NOT TO SHOP.............NEXT DAY IT WAS PORTE DE VERSAILLES WHERE THERE WERE 5 DIFFERENT FAIRS, I ONLY MANAGED 3 AS THE HEAT WAS STILL BLASTING AWAY. IT HAD TO BE 100 DEGREES, AT LEAST...NO AIR CON, AND TIN ROOFS, AND A MILLION LIGHTS, AND EVERYONE STILL SMOKES IN PARIS........ I BOUGHT WONDERFUL JEWELRY THAT WILL MATCH PERFECTLY THE SKIRTS THAT I BOUGHT THE DAY BEFORE. FOR NEXT SPRING. IT'S STILL GOING TO BE A LOT OF COLOR, AT LEAST IN MY STORES.............

MY PARIS TIPS: I ALWAYS STAY AT HOTEL MONTAIGNE, 6 AVENUE MONTAIGNE. THE HOTEL IS WEDGED BETWEEN UNGARO, VALENTINO, PRADA, AND DOLCI, SO EVEN WHEN THE WEATHER IS REALLY NASTY, WHICH 90% OF THE YEAR IT IS, YOU CAN STILL SHOP........AS I ALWAYS SAY, WHEN IT'S RAINING IT'S NOT RAINING IN THE STORES. THE DIRECTRESS IS MARION AND THE CONCIERGE IS NICOLAS, IT'S SMALL AND VERY PERSONAL, WONDERFUL BREAKFASTS. THE BISTRO NEXT DOOR, TEATRO, HAS THE BEST STEAK TARTARE IN PARIS AND ALSO, IF YOU DARE, TARTE TARTIN.................(DON'T TELL HEATHER)

I HAVE CONQUERED PACKING AFTER MANY YEARS; THE TRICK IS TO PACK. EVERYTHING ON HANGERS, YOU PROBABLY ALL KNOW THIS, BUT I WON'T TELL YOU HOW MANY YEARS IT TOOK ME TO FIGURE THIS OUT! IT WORKS. ALSO HAVING A MAID PACK AND UNPACK FOR YOU. THIS IS THE BEST TRICK, BUT TRAVELING WITH MY MAID IS JUST TOO MUCH, OR IS IT?
ALWAYS KEEP YOUR COSMETIC BAG PACKED AND BUY AN EXTRA VENUS RAZORS JUST FOR TRAVELING AND DON'T TAKE THE SAME ONE YOU USE EVERYDAY.

MY FAVORITE RESTAURANTS, ALTHOUGH THEY HAVE PEAKED AND AT THE MOMENT ARE NOT THE HOT PLACE TO BE, ARE LA SUITE (ASK FOR JEROME), AND L'AVENUE, (DON'T ASK FOR ALEX, BUT LOOK OUT FOR HIM, HE LOOKS JUST LIKE TOM FORD BUT CUTER.)

SOMEHOW ITS ALWAYS A BIT MORE PEACEFUL EATING IN A RESTAURANT AFTER IT IS 'OUT'..................I MEAN THE FOOD IS STILL THE SAME.

TIP: NEVER ORDER DECAF ANYTHING IN HONG KONG. IT'S 3:30AM AND THAT WAITER SWORE THE COFFEE WAS DECAF, BUT GUESS WHAT? HERE I AM WRITING YOU....................

THIS IS A SUMMER HAND BAG DESIGN TRIP AND A FEW EXTRA SHOES FOR THE APRIL COLLECTION ........TOO MUCH IS NOT ENOUGH!
XXXX
B.

Doggie Love

Here is my most adored family - we are 9 now! Two weeks ago on a Saturday night, the family grew with 3 new babies. Billy and Fifi are the proud parents.

We all live in Spain; they like the catered meals, the chauffeur driven rides to the hairdresser, and their VIP status at the hospital. And of course, they are bilingual. They understand both English and Spanish.

I am a hopeless dog lover. I love them as they eat my carpets, pee on every corner of every piece of furniture and rip my Wolfords as they all jump on me simultaneously. They all have a very special respect for shoes, though, and instinctively stay away.

Well, my brother, Howard, says men are dogs. I say dogs are better than men. They show up on time. They care for you when you are sick, they kiss you when you wake up in the morning and kiss you when you go to sleep. They cuddle. They look at you with the greatest love and admiration, and, most of all, they are faithful.

We are working on a dog page for our website. You will be able to send in a picture and all things you love most about your dogs – and we will post it on our Beverly Feldman website - who knows, it could be like a canine dating game!If you want to play, make sure you are registered on the site. Very soon, we will be sending out an email notice telling you how to send in your pictures. No dog left behind. I want to get to know all of them!

Besos, Beverly

<img width='1' height='1' I prefer real woman who have accomplished real things. Oprah is someone I have admired forever and she has worn my shoes on her show and we have been on the O List, and in her magazine editorial repeatedly. This is something I am really proud of. I have a select small group of female TV anchors Suze Orman, Katie Couric, Jane Hanson,Lorraine Hahn (CNN Asia). Sexy, intelligent women. These women started at the bottom and worked to the highest level of success in a male-dominated field, similar to myself.

My website is the best venue to spread my philosophy and fun. My customers are women from 10 yrs who are going to Bar Mitzvah’s and want to wear my highest 4” rhinestone heels, to my adopted mother, Harriet Wright, the last living Copacabana Girl (87) who has a huge closet of my beaded flats. My shoes make women happy. They are all conversation pieces; they are glamorous, fun; they are art. I have yet to meet a woman anywhere in the world that doesn’t love shoes.

If it isn’t comfortable, we don’t make it. Shoes are the foundation of our Girl Souls; they must be comfortable. Pain isn’t glamorous. True Success is making glamour comfortable. Fusing fashion and comfort is nature’s one true feat -it’s as hard as finding the perfect man.

After a 5 month non-stop shopping and designing spree, the Summer 05 Collection has come together. I left NYC on April 3, and went to Hong Kong three times, Paris twice, Italy twice, London twice, and to our Ibiza store 5 times. It’s the largest, most coordinated collection to date - and I lost 15 pounds at the same time!!

So what’s new for the Summer Collection? First I have designed my own fabrics with the newest computer technology, giving the Collection its foundation and making it completely unique.

Harry Winston Hits the Streets…Rock me, Baby!
It’s a summer of jewelry - stones on everything…stones on an amazing collection of flip flops. Flip flops that flip you out. Flip flops decorated beyond and above. Flip flops are going main stream; flip flops are going dressy, flip flops are going where they have never gone before, and who can decorate better than the Queen of Decoration herself, the Divine Miss B?,

Capri.
Dragging myself off the fabulous playas of Ibiza, I finally went to the much touted isle of Capri, in search of the mystique of the Capri sandal.
